About The Event

After a milestone anniversary and record-breaking support, we're bringing the beach to the bowling alley for Beach Bowl 2018! On April 21, grab your shorts, sunglasses and bowling shoes for the 31st annual Ability Bowl in Swift Current.

Funds raised from Ability Bowl will support the programs and services offered by the Swift Current Branch of SaskAbilities. With the help of bowlers, pledgers, sponsors and volunteers, we can continue providing these vital programs and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing disability.

The Ability Bowl will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Frontier Bowling Lanes in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Specific bowling times will be communicated closer to the event.

Each bowling team must have a minimum of five players, one of which will be nominated as the team captain. The team captain is responsible for getting the team members registered, fundraising and to the event on time. They will be the main contact person for the team as well.

Each team will bowl two games, one regular game and one fun bowl game. The fun bowl is played after game one of each shift. The first lane to get a strike wins! The fun bowl involves bowling in different postures ie. one hand on your head, bowling between the legs of another player, etc.

For each teammate, registration includes two free bowling games, one free t-shirt, and one complimentary supper ticket to the banquet.

The banquet will take place at Walker Place, 2150 Walker Street in Swift Current. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. Additional tickets are $20 each. Prizes and awards will be presented.

This year’s Ability Bowl theme is “Beach Bowl!” We encourage you to grab your sunglasses and dress in your favourite beach gear. There will be prizes for the top three best dressed teams. Prizes will be announced and presented at the banquet. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Hawaiian shirt
- Grass skirt and coconut bra
- Sun hat and shades
