About The Event
February 9, 2019 marks 42nd Annual Easter Seals Snowarama!
Join us for a weekend of fun and excitement as we rally to raise funds for Camp Easter Seal, Summer Fun, and Adaptive Technology Services; these programs increase self-confidence and independence for children experiencing disability in Saskatchewan.
Snowarama registrants raise a minimum of $200 in pledges to participate and enjoy 200 km of beautifully groomed marked trails, complimentary meals, fuel, Snowarama swag, tickets to the Awards Banquet and cabaret, as well as a chance to win a 2019 Arctic Cat Lynx!
So much fun to be had at Snowarama! The weekend kicks off at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton on Friday, February 8, with registration and a Beer & Wing Night. Come back Saturday morning for a delicious breakfast, then hit the trails for a great day of snowmobiling. The mid-way point will be at Rawhides in Stenen, SK where you'll enjoy a complimentary lunch and fuel for your snowmobile. Ride back to Yorkton and join us at the Awards Banquet; supper, awards, a live auction, and the grand prize draw of a new snowmobile! Finish the night off at the Snowarama Cabaret!
Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan works to enrich the lives of every child and youth experiencing disabilities in our province. Each year we provide services to children and youth, along with their families, through programs offered by SaskAbilities, owner and operator of Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan.
We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem, and self-determination of children and youth with disabilities, through programs such as Camp Easter Seal, Summer Fun and Adaptive Technology Services.
Camp Easter Seal – is the only completely barrier-free camp facility of its kind in Saskatchewan and offers campers a true camping experience. Campers experience horseback riding, boating, tubing, wakeboarding and swimming often for the first time. Through corporate and public donations, and the effort of countless volunteers, we are able to fully subsidize our camps, allowing campers to attend free of charge. The cost per camper for a one-week session is $1,500.
Summer Fun – is an urban day camp where children and young adults with disabilities enjoy recreation during the summer months. Programming is funded through donations to Easter Seals™ Saskatchewan. The cost per child$1,500.
Adaptive Technology Services – is a program that uses advanced technology and computer equipment to promote independence and increase quality of life. This program costs on average $315 per person.
